(一)make conversation
该短语表示“闲聊”。如：
It can be very difficult to make conversation at a party. (在聚会时有时很难找话题跟人应酬。)
(二)make the bed
该短语表示“整理床铺”，有时bed也可以用复数，即make the beds。此外，定冠词the也可以去掉。如：
